How to transfer your KeyShot license to another computer

Issue

KeyShot serial codes can only be registered on one computer at a time. However, you can transfer your license between two computers by deactivating your license.

The currently active computer will need to be connected to the internet and also the computer you wanna move your license to needs to be on the internet.

Resolution

The steps below help you deactivate your license from one computer:

1. Open KeyShot on your computer.

2. Go to Help (Windows) or KeyShot (Mac) > Deactivate License. This will deactivate the license and release your serial code from our server.

3. A window will pop up telling you Deactivation was Successful.

These steps help you activate your license on a new computer depending if it's a first-time installation or if KeyShot has already been activated in Demo or Trial mode.

First-time Installation.

1. Install KeyShot on a new computer and select Activate your license.


2. Fill out your Registration Information.


3. Enter your serial code in the current window.


4. Enter your KeyShot XR/Web serial code if you have one. If you don't have one you can skip this step.


5. If you see this window your activation is Successful.


Note: If Activation fails Save the requested file and send it to Customer Support.
 

 

Already Installed on the computer.

1. Open KeyShot and go to Help (Windows) or KeyShot (Mac).

6. If you see this window your activation is Successful.
